General Laborer
Location: Milwaukee, WI
Shift: 1st Shift, Monday-Thursday, 7am-5pm
Position Summary
General Laborers support the powder coating production process by loading and unloading parts, preparing materials for coating, masking products, packaging finished goods, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on work in a manufacturing setting and are willing to learn powder coating operations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Load and unload metal parts onto racks and conveyor systems.
- Prepare parts for powder coating by cleaning, masking, plugging, and inspecting surfaces.
- Remove completed parts from production lines and package finished products.
- Assist powder coating operators and production personnel as needed.
- Perform basic quality inspections to ensure finished products meet customer requirements.
- Move materials throughout the facility using carts, pallet jacks, or other material-handling equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Assist with assembly, packaging, and other production-related tasks.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous manufacturing, warehouse, or general labor experience is helpful but not required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, dust, and industrial equipment.
- Ability to safely handle and move metal parts and finished products.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in manufacturing, powder coating, painting, fabrication, or assembly.
- Forklift or pallet jack experience.
- Basic measuring and inspection skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
