    Base Foreman

    A local South Edmonton client is searching for an experienced  Base Foreman  to join their team. Our client is an Edmonton-based road construction company. 

    Base Foreman  Responsibilities:

    • Supervise a crew of up to 6 full time and part time workers (in a season)
    • Mentor and train workers and ensure that they follow the accurate steps in jobs/projects assigned
    • Complete/help the crews in the Base process, which includes running variety of base equipment, grading, preparing grades, testing uniformity of ground etc.
    • Use the required equipment during the base work process
    • Ensure safe work practices and enforce all requirements of the company safety manual and occupational health and safety. Report hazards or unsafe practices to the Superintendent/General Superintendents
    • Assist/provide inputs to Superintendents in recruitment, employee issues, performance management, terminations, and discipline of employees
    • Ensure safety procedures and legislations are being followed
    • Ensuring that the final product is meeting customer specs and safety requirements. Take inputs, directions and approvals from the Superintendents/General Superintendent during this process
    • Ensure projects meet customer specifications, timelines, compliance and a high level of quality workmanship 
    • Assist Superintendent in keeping track of procedures of work and help guide the Field workers to be effective and quality orientated
    • Identify and provide effective solutions related to operations and people, to Foremen/Crews for problems that may be encountered in the field
    • Assist Superintendent in maintaining paperwork
    • Provide daily/frequent inputs and status to the Superintendent on jobs/Projects
    • Other duties as required  

    Base Foreman  Requirements:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • 5+ year's relevant experience working in road construction industry and minimum of 3 years' experience with base work
    • Hands on base experience in municipal company is a requirement
    • Minimum 1- 3 years of experience working as Foreman/acting as a Foreman
    • Solid experience and knowledge of the base process is a requirement
    • Experience in municipal and commercial is required
    • Overall road construction experience
    • Leadership, people management and development, communication, decision making, quality
    • Service orientated, entrepreneurial orientation, results oriented, organizational skills, technical knowledge and hands on approach
    • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, time management and organizational skills
    • Able to lift up to 100 lbs
    • Expertise in Grader, Rollers, Skid Steers, and small packing equipment operation
    • Will be trained on internal software
    • Basic computer knowledge (MS Office - Excel, Word and outlook)
    • Need to have Class 5 license

    • $95,000-$110,000/year

    Parts Manager   Responsibilities:

    Cabinet Maker - Journeyman

     

    A local Edmonton company is searching for an Cabinet Installer who will have core responsibilities in implementing plans, drawings, or articles to made to certain specifications. They will also be fitting parts and subassemblies together, completing units, reinforcing joints, sanding wooden surfaces, and applying veneer, stain, or polish to finished products. This position also involves operating woodworking machines and hand tools to cut and form part components.

    The Cabinet Installer is a vital role within the company, working on a variety of projects at the custom cabinet shop. Our Cabinet Installer will most often work on a team and will need to have certification as a Cabinet Maker, as well as the ability to read instructions and blueprints when needed, and maintain a clean and safe work environment.

      This is a dynamic role, as you will be working in a commercial setting within the petroleum industry, operating earthworks compaction equipment and drawing from commercial carpentry experience to complete tasks. 

       Job Highlights:

      • Operating general carpentry equipment, skidsteers, earthwork compaction equipment, and aerial platforms.
      • Conducting tasks while working alongside a team
      • Working with wood, framing, concrete framework
      • Managing earthworks and backfill, trenching, slab prep and site layout

       What we look For:

      • 2 to 5+ years of experience in commercial carpentry

The Mechanical Millwright is a vital role within the company, working on a variety of equipment types (including drives, conveyers, and packaging equipment), including building and assembling mechanical components, repairing common mechanical issues, and running diagnostic tests to discover potential issues. Our Mechanical Millwright will most often work independently but will occasionally be expected to work well in a team when assisting production staff.
