            Job Title: Safety Advisor
Location: Phoenix Metro, AZ
Salary: $25-$28 per hour
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Safety Advisor with construction experience to join our team and ensure a safe and compliant work environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction safety, hold an OSHA 30-Hour Certification, and possess Spanish-speaking skills to effectively communicate with our diverse workforce. This role involves developing safety policies, conducting inspections, and providing training to mitigate risks and enhance safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- 
Safety Program Development and Implementation: 
- Develop and maintain safety policies and procedures specific to the construction industry.
- Implement and oversee safety programs to promote a culture of safety on job sites.
 
- 
Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment: 
- Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify and address potential hazards.
- Review accident reports and near misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
 
- 
Training and Education: 
- Deliver safety training programs to employees, including orientation for new hires and ongoing refresher courses.
- Ensure all workers are knowledgeable about construction-specific safety procedures and emergency protocols.
 
- 
Compliance and Record-Keeping: 
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and construction safety standards.
- Maintain thorough records of safety inspections, training sessions, and incident reports.
 
- 
Incident Investigation and Reporting: 
- Investigate accidents and incidents on construction sites to determine causes and recommend preventive measures.
- Prepare detailed incident reports and follow up on corrective actions.
 
- 
Emergency Response Planning: 
- Develop and implement emergency response plans tailored to construction site conditions.
- Conduct regular drills and simulations to ensure preparedness for various emergency scenarios.
 
- 
Safety Equipment and Resources: 
- Ensure the availability and proper maintenance of safety equipment on construction sites.
- Recommend improvements to safety practices and equipment as needed.
 
- 
Collaboration and Communication: 
- Work closely with construction managers, supervisors, and workers to address safety concerns and implement solutions.
- Utilize Spanish-speaking skills to communicate effectively with a diverse team and ensure all safety messages are clearly understood.
 
Role Requirements:
- Construction Experience: Proven experience in the construction industry, with a strong understanding of the unique safety challenges and requirements.
- OSHA 30-Hour Certification: Must hold an OSHA 30-Hour Certification to ensure up-to-date knowledge of safety regulations.
- Spanish-Speaking Skills: Ability to communicate effectively in Spanish is a plus for better engagement with our diverse team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience) is preferred.
- Certification such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) is advantageous.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform safety inspections on construction sites, which may involve walking, climbing, and lifting.
- Capability to respond to emergencies and perform related duties as needed.
Work Environment:
- Primarily field-based with frequent visits to construction sites.
