Part-Time Driver / Donation Sorter
Pay: $15.00/hour
Schedule: Monday–Saturday, during store hours of 8:30 AM–4:30 PM
Location: Hot Springs, AR
Position: Part-Time | Long-Term / Evaluation-to-Hire
Express Employment Professionals is currently hiring for a Part-Time Driver/Donation Sorter with a local charitable organization in Hot Springs!
This is a great opportunity for a dependable, friendly, and self-motivated individual who enjoys working independently, interacting with customers and donors, and staying active throughout the day.
What You'll Do
- Drive a box truck to pick up donated and purchased goods
- Pick up and deliver donated items on scheduled days
- Complete scheduled estate sale pickups and other designated pickups
- Safely and courteously load donated items at customer/donor locations
- Unload donations at the store while following back dock procedures
- Issue donation receipts according to store policy
- Sort and organize donations as needed
- Clean and move priced merchandise to the showroom floor
- Assist in other areas of the store as requested
- Make trips to the county landfill to dispose of unusable products
- Perform daily pre-trip vehicle inspections
- Keep the truck's cab and box clean, safe, and organized
- Monitor routine vehicle maintenance and notify the supervisor of needed repairs or safety concerns
- Assist with store and truck safety audits
What We're Looking For
- Previous driving and customer service experience preferred
- Clean driving record and valid driver's license
- Must have been an Arkansas resident for the past 5 years
- Clean background
- Reliable and dependable
- Able to work effectively with limited supervision
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Friendly, polite, and professional
- Detail-oriented with good communication skills
- Comfortable interacting with donors and customers
Helpful Skills
Knowledge or experience in the following areas is a plus:
- Basic carpentry
- Mechanical knowledge
- Electrical knowledge
- Customer service
- Box truck driving
- Hand carts/dollies
- Pallet jacks
- Forklift operation
Mechanical, electrical, or carpentry knowledge is especially helpful when evaluating, testing, verifying, or understanding donated products.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move approximately 40–50 lbs.
- Ability to load and unload donated items
- Ability to use a hand cart/dolly
- Ability to operate a pallet jack and forklift
- Ability to remain active throughout the workday
Important Requirements
Qualified candidates must be able to:
- Provide a current copy of their driving record to verify a valid driver's license
- Pass a background check
- Pass a drug screen
- Meet the organization's driving and residency requirements
- Work independently with limited supervision
- Safely operate the assigned vehicle and equipment
