Utility/Laborer – Full-Time
Pay: $16.00/hour
Schedule: 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
Location: Malvern, AR
Position: Full-Time
Express Employment Professionals is currently interviewing candidates for a Utility/Laborer position with a local company in Malvern!
This is a hands-on position for someone who is dependable, hardworking, and comfortable staying active throughout the entire workday. The company is willing to train the right candidate on plant-specific equipment and processes.
What You'll Do
- Handle, stack, and grade materials
- Clean fibrous material from the production floor using a shovel or broom
- Sweep and shovel wood dust and other production materials
- Keep work areas clean and organized
- Assist with plant operations, including production, quality control, loading, and shipping
- Cross-train in various areas of the plant
- Learn to operate plant-specific mobile equipment
- Move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Follow all company safety rules, regulations, procedures, and policies
- Maintain a positive and upbeat attitude while working with teammates and coworkers
Important: Cleaning duties are performed on the production floor only. This position does not require climbing ladders.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous forklift or warehouse experience preferred
- Forklift and/or heavy equipment experience is a plus, but the company is willing to train
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Dependable and punctual
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Willingness to learn and cross-train in different areas of the plant
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
- Must have steel-toe boots/shoes
Physical Requirements
This is a very active, physically demanding position.
Candidates must be comfortable with:
- Standing for extended periods of time
- Walking within the work area or standing for long periods
- Little to no sitting during the workday except during scheduled breaks and lunch
- Repeated bending, sweeping, shoveling, and lifting
- Lifting and moving materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Working around production equipment, wood dust, and fibrous material
