Job Full Description

Typical Duties The Quality Control Inspector Level II – Receiving & Final Inspection supports quality operations within a cable and connector manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for inspecting incoming materials and verifying finished cable assemblies and connector products manufactured in house to ensure compliance with customer, internal, and regulatory requirements. The inspector applies established quality control methods, inspection techniques, and documented procedures to ensure product conformance and provides technical support to Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and Manufacturing. Receiving Inspection Responsibilities • Performs receiving inspection of incoming materials, including, but not limited to, outsourced machined components, metal shells, connectors, wire reels, and cable spools, or other component related items. • Conducts electrical testing verification of incoming cable, wire, or other electrically testable components using approved procedures. • Performs visual inspections and quantity verification of received components against purchase orders and shipping documentation. • Reviews and verifies required supplier documentation, including, but not limited to, Certificates of Conformance (CoC), material certifications, test reports, and other applicable quality records. • Ensures incoming materials meet specified requirements prior to release to production; identifies, documents, and segregates nonconforming material in accordance with established quality procedures. Final Inspection Responsibilities Performs final inspection of in-house manufactured products, including, but not limited to: Terminated (soldered) cable assemblies Molded assemblies Pressure tested assemblies Assembled connectors, machined metal shells, and related component assemblies • Conducts electrical testing and dimensional inspection per test reports, inspection plans, and acceptance criteria. • Performs visual inspections per customer specifications, customer purchase orders, customer or internal drawings, IPC/WHMA A 620, J STD, and other applicable customer, contractual, or internal quality requirements. • Reviews and audits production and inspection documentation for completeness, accuracy, and traceability prior to product release, as applicable to the product and customer requirements. • Documents inspection results, prepares inspection records and reports, and supports investigations related to inspection abnormalities. • Makes recommendations for corrective actions necessary to ensure conformity with quality specifications. #2903
