Position Summary:

 

 

We are seeking a confident, experienced, and proactive HR Generalist to join a fast-paced nutraceutical manufacturing company in Lomita , CA. This is a critical replacement hire for a leadership-level HR professional who can work closely with management while also serving as a strong advocate for employees across the organization.

 

 

This person must have the ability to navigate challenging personalities, enforce labor compliance, and support a predominantly Spanish-speaking manufacturing workforce. The ideal candidate will bring strong knowledge of California labor law, HR best practices, and the confidence to push back professionally when needed.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

• Serve as a trusted advisor to department heads, including ownership and executive leadership

 

• Handle employee relations, conflict resolution, performance management, and disciplinary actions

 

• Ensure compliance with all California labor laws and federal regulations

 

• Manage employee investigations, documentation, and terminations when necessary

 

• Support workforce planning, recruiting, and onboarding of hourly and salaried staff

 

• Oversee and update HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook

 

• Administer compensation, benefits, and leave programs

 

• Support training, development, and engagement initiatives across departments

 

• Maintain accurate employee records and compliance documentation

 

• Act as liaison between leadership and the frontline workforce

 

 

Qualifications:

 

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field (required)

 

• Minimum 5 years of HR Generalist experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment

 

• Deep knowledge of California labor laws, wage & hour regulations, and compliance practices

 

• Bilingual – fluent in English and Spanish (required)

 

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills

 

• Ability to manage difficult conversations and push back when appropriate

 

• Proficient in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite

 

• PHR or SHRM-CP certification is a plus
