Shipping & Receiving Associate
Location: Torrance, CA
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $20/hour
Overview
A manufacturing/distribution company in Torrance is seeking an experienced Shipping & Receiving Associate with required forklift experience to support daily warehouse operations. This role ensures accurate receiving, efficient shipping, and smooth flow of materials throughout the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and damage
- Prepare, package, and stage outgoing shipments
- Create shipping labels, bills of lading, and all required documentation
- Operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely and efficiently (forklift required)
- Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts and proper documentation
- Organize materials and maintain a clean, safe warehouse environment
- Update system records for all inbound/outbound materials
- Coordinate with carriers, drivers, and internal departments
Requirements
- Forklift experience required (sit-down or stand-up depending on facility needs)
- 1+ year of experience in shipping, receiving, logistics, or warehouse operations
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods
- Basic computer skills for labels, documentation, and inventory entries
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and reliability
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting
