Job Title: Hexagon CMM Programmer with PC-DMIS
Compensation: $40-$50/ hour depending on experience
Schedule: 7:00am-3:00pm, OT available

An established and growing aerospace manufacturer in the Carson, CA area is seeking an experienced CMM Programmer / Quality Engineer to join its quality team.
This position is ideal for someone with strong aerospace inspection experience who is comfortable programming CMMs, interpreting complex GD&T requirements, completing First Article Inspections, and supporting quality processes throughout production.
Candidates should have extensive hands-on experience working with precision aerospace components and be able to independently troubleshoot complex inspection and dimensional challenges.
Responsibilities
- Program Hexagon Metrology Global Chrome and Sharpe CMM machines using PC-DMIS
- Create and modify CMM programs from customer-supplied CAD/solid models
- Perform complex dimensional inspections on precision aerospace components
- Inspect parts with tight tolerances, multiple datums, GD&T profiles, and critical features
- Prepare and support AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs)
- Perform in-process and final inspections using engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation
- Develop inspection plans and improve existing inspection methods as products and requirements change
- Review drawings, production documentation, SPC requirements, and quality records
- Train inspectors and manufacturing personnel on CMM programs and inspection procedures
- Troubleshoot inspection and measurement issues
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the quality department
- Assist with setup and operation of Optical Comparators and Keyence Vision Inspection systems
- Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and leadership to resolve quality concerns and maintain customer requirements
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of CMM programming experience within aerospace manufacturing
- Advanced experience with PC-DMIS
- Strong knowledge of GD&T
- Ability to read and interpret complex aerospace blueprints and specifications
- Experience programming CMMs directly from CAD/solid models
- Strong background in precision dimensional inspection
- Experience with surface plates, height gages, sine plates, precision hand tools, and other inspection equipment
- Ability to independently troubleshoot complex inspection challenges
- Strong attention to detail and documentation
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience preparing and submitting AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports
- Experience with Net-Inspect
- Experience with Keyence Vision Systems
- Experience operating Optical Comparators
- Previous experience training or mentoring inspectors or quality personnel
