Job Full Description
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Mechanic to support operations at our client’s water bottling facility. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production and packaging equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on bottling, filling, labeling, and packaging equipment
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic, and fluid handling issues
- Repair conveyors, pumps, motors, valves, and production machinery
- Support installation and startup of new equipment
- Conduct routine inspections to identify potential equipment failures
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation
- Follow all safety, food safety, and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) standards
- Work closely with production teams to minimize downtime
- Assist with facility maintenance as needed (plumbing, basic electrical, compressed air systems)
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- 2+ years of maintenance experience in manufacturing, bottling, or food & beverage preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude; electrical troubleshooting experience a plus
- Experience with conveyors, pumps, motors, and automated equipment
- Experience with software interface tools for Allen Bradley or GE PLCs and familiarity with Windows-based software is preferred.
- Ability to read equipment manuals, schematics, and technical drawings
- Basic computer skills for maintenance tracking systems
- Willingness to work overtime in accordance with business requirements.
- Trade, technical school training, or Millwright certification is preferred.
- Forklift experience is preferred
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable working around moving machinery and wet environments
- Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime as needed
