Express Employment Professionals is partnering with a national heavy equipment rental company in search of a skilled Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic to join their growing Fort Myers team! Job Summary:
The Heavy Equipment/Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on a variety of industrial and construction equipment. Your role ensures all equipment is clean, safe, and rental-ready.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks, and greasing/lubrication
- Hydraulic repair
- Inspect equipment for damage or wear and report issues
- Clean, prep, and organize equipment for delivery or return
- Assist in troubleshooting and basic repairs under supervision
- Adhere to all safety and quality standards
- Keep accurate maintenance records
- Operate forklifts and light equipment as needed
- Support mechanics with larger repair tasks
- Maintain a clean and efficient workspace
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous experience in equipment, automotive, or mechanical maintenance
- Comfortable using hand and power tools
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Team player with good communication skills
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in outdoor conditions
- Valid driver’s license required
- Forklift certification a plus
