Job Title: Quality Inspector
Location: Fort Myers, FL
Pay: $19/hour
Schedule: 5:00 AM – 5:00 PM (9–10-hour shifts within this time frame, overtime as needed)
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join our manufacturing team in Fort Myers. In this role, you will support production engineering and the quality leader by performing product inspections, analyzing and solving quality problems, preparing inspection plans, performing audits, and tracking quality data. This position may also require occasional use of hand tools, power tools, or special assembly tools.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Conduct quality inspections at specified stages of the production process, following defined work instructions.
- Perform visual inspections of parts for surface appearance, finish defects, or other non-conforming issues.
- Carry out daily floor inspections to monitor First Pass Yield (FPY).
- Communicate when work instructions need updates; partner with technical writer to maintain accuracy.
- Collaborate with sustaining engineering to identify root causes of quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Log, track, and analyze product issues submitted from prior shifts.
- Review product-related issues to evaluate impact and magnitude of problems.
- Share quality alerts with the team and promote proactive solutions.
- Perform regular process audits and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Record test data and validate results against quality standards.
- Recommend improvements to production or quality standards within equipment capabilities.
- Support continuous improvement (CI) initiatives with data and team collaboration.
- Conduct failure analysis on customer complaints and returned products.
- Perform CI inspections of finished goods to ensure industry compliance.
- Assist with other duties as assigned by leadership.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of quality inspection experience preferred (not required).
- Previous quality or inspection background a plus.
- Strong math and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English required; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Ability to work effectively at all organizational levels, including production line operators.
- Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Flexible working early mornings, overtime, and variable hours based on production needs.
