Medical Scheduler
Location: Fort Myers, FL
Pay Rate: $16.50–$18.00 per hour (based on experience)
Express Employment Professionals of Fort Myers is partnering with a private medical practice in Fort Myers to add a Medical Scheduler to their team. This is a great opportunity for candidates with strong customer service or call center experience who are looking to break into the medical field. Prior medical experience is helpful but not required.
The ideal candidate will have a professional phone presence, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while providing excellent service to patients.
Duties & Responsibilities:

Answer a high volume of incoming calls (500+ daily)

Provide professional and courteous assistance to patients over the phone

Take messages and route them to appropriate staff and providers

Schedule appointments including:

Manage daily waitlists/ticklers to ensure patients are scheduled appropriately

Collect payments over the phone and inform patients of balances; forward billing questions as needed

Review assigned providers’ schedules to ensure all appointment slots are filled

Compare Athena schedules with QGenda to ensure accuracy

Register new patients and update demographics

Enter and update insurance information

Work assigned task queues and label tasks appropriately

Page physicians with messages and assist with office and hospital consult follow-ups

Maintain patient confidentiality at all times

Work monthly “lost to follow-up” reports

Send new patient paperwork

Mail sympathy cards, patient orders, lab results, and requisitions as requested

Perform additional duties or special projects as assigned
