This organization supports contractors, municipalities, and infrastructure projects by providing high-quality supplies and dependable service. They are rapidly growing and seeking a reliable Staff Accountant to join their team.
Position Overview:
We are looking for an Staff Accountant who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the accounting department with day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all tasks. This role requires someone who is proactive, organized, and comfortable managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable and receivable transactions, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
- Assist with preparing financial reports, including monthly and quarterly statements.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all financial transactions.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Communicate with vendors and clients to resolve billing discrepancies.
- Perform data entry and ensure the integrity of financial data.
- Assist with audits and prepare documentation as required.
- Collaborate with the accounting team to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- Other administrative duties as assigned by the accounting manager.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar) is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
