Location: Fort Myers, FL
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
Pay: $21/hr

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a detail-oriented Billing Assistant / Receptionist (Backup) for a professional office in the Fort Myers area. This role supports the billing department, provides occasional receptionist coverage, and performs courier duties as needed. Key Responsibilities

Billing & Administrative Support

  • Open billing files and assign billing numbers

  • Perform conflict-of-interest checks

  • Enter daily fees, expenses, and payment entries

  • Maintain copier cost recovery system and import data into billing software

  • Process client payments (checks, credit cards, electronic)

  • Prepare daily deposits and update spreadsheets

  • Print, revise, and finalize monthly client statements

  • Prepare Work in Process reports and billing logs

  • Reconcile bank statements

  • Post and print daily cost-advance checks

  • Assign closed-file numbers

  • Assist Office Administrator as needed

Receptionist Backup

  • Answer and transfer phone calls professionally

  • Open, date-stamp, and route incoming mail

  • Maintain conference room schedule via Outlook

  • Process daily outgoing mail using postage equipment

Courier Duties

  • Perform office pick-ups and deliveries as needed

  • Make daily post office drop-offs

Qualifications

  • Strong typing accuracy (60 wpm preferred)

  • Excellent communication skills—written and verbal

  • Strong attention to detail, grammar, and organization

  • Basic bookkeeping and 10-key calculator skills

  • Proficient with computers and general office equipment

  • Ability to multitask and manage a steady workflow

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Work Environment

  • Moderate supervision with recurring routine tasks

  • Interaction with internal staff, clients, and outside professionals

  • Occasional overtime during peak billing cycles
