Job Title: Return Technician (Return Tech)
Location: Fort Myers, FL
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Pay Rate: Starting at $17.00/hour
Position Summary
The Return Technician is responsible for processing, organizing, and maintaining returned products and parts. This role ensures all returned materials are accurately boxed, labeled, documented, tested, and properly stored or dispositioned according to company procedures. The Return Tech will work cross-functionally with Logistics, Technical Support, R&D, and Customer Service while maintaining accurate records within the ERP system.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Collaborate cross-functionally while performing duties with professionalism and respect
- Receive, inspect, document, and track all returned products and parts
- Process Return Authorization Materials (RMA) according to company policies
- Initiate customer return credits or return customer items that do not meet return criteria
- Handle RMA requests and tickets for special and sample accounts as assigned
- Communicate with Technical Support regarding returned items
- Maintain daily and periodic reports, including daily returns logs
- Process returns to stock, assess/apply fees, and document all returns in the ERP system with photos
- Perform Level 1 testing of returned items
- Return items to inventory or discard based on inspection results
- Assist with special returns involving R&D and Pilot programs
- Support Logistics with damaged shipping claims
- Collaborate with R&D on root cause analysis and IPB issues
- Pick parts for orders as needed
- Maintain tool cart, department cleanliness, and organized work areas
- Follow OSHA safety guidelines and all applicable state and federal regulations
- Participate in required safety training
- Assist team members and perform other related duties as assigned
Competencies & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in customer service, technical support, shipping/receiving, or related fields; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Understanding of distribution operations with mechanical and technical aptitude
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and ERP systems
- Working knowledge of tools, appliances, and devices
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Manual dexterity with good physical condition, strength, and balance
- Dependable with excellent attendance; flexibility to work overtime, early, or late as business needs require
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
