Job Title: Bookkeeper (Construction Industry)
Location: Fort Myers, FL
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $25 – $28 per hour (based on experience)
Position Type: Temp-to-Perm

Company Overview:
Express Employment Professionals is partnering with a well-established construction company in Fort Myers seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper with strong QuickBooks Enterprise experience. This role is ideal for someone who understands the pace of a construction office and enjoys working with project-related accounting, subcontractor compliance, and financial organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes

• Prepare and issue customer invoices and track project billing

• Maintain and update subcontractor Certificates of Insurance (COIs)

• Perform General Ledger entries and account reconciliation

• Balance accounts and ensure accurate financial reporting

• Assist with job cost tracking and construction-related documentation

• Utilize Excel for reporting, data tracking, and reconciliations

• Maintain accurate records in QuickBooks Enterprise

• Support office operations with financial and administrative tasks as needed

Qualifications:

• Proven bookkeeping experience, preferably in a construction environment

• Required: Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Enterprise

• Strong understanding of A/P, A/R, invoicing, and general ledger functions

• Experience handling subcontractor documentation and compliance (COIs) preferred

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Highly organized with strong attention to detail

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced office setting

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Compensation & Benefits (Upon Permanent Hire):

• Company-paid holiday shutdowns:

  • Year 1: One paid shutdown week (either July 4th week or Christmas week)
