Permit Coordinator

Position: Permit Coordinator
Location: Fort Myers, FL
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Position Type: Evaluation Hire

Position Overview

An established and growing homebuilder in Fort Myers is seeking a detail-oriented Permit Coordinator to support the permitting process for new residential construction projects. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys administrative work, and excels at organization, communication, and multitasking. Previous permitting experience is preferred but not required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, submit, track, and file permits for new residential construction projects.
  • Prepare and process Certificates of Occupancy (COs).
  • Assist customers with completing permit applications and required documentation.
  • Maintain permit logs, records, and filing systems with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Enter, update, and manage information within company databases and tracking systems.
  • Prepare reports, correspondence, memos, and other administrative documentation.
  • Research, retrieve, organize, and maintain project files as needed.
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail, scanning, filing, copying, and document transmission.
  • Coordinate with municipalities, contractors, developers, customers, and internal departments throughout the permitting process.
  • Provide administrative support and perform general clerical duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • Previous permitting, construction, or administrative experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong follow-up, problem-solving, and time management abilities.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and eager to learn.
