Certified Medical Assistant (Part-Time)
Location: Bonita Springs, FL
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 7:30 AM–1:30 PM, with occasional Friday coverage as needed.
Express Employment Professionals is recruiting for a Part-Time Certified Medical Assistant on behalf of a well-established medical practice in Bonita Springs. We are seeking a professional, dependable individual with strong clinical skills, excellent patient care, and hands-on experience using Athena (athenahealth) EMR.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and prepare them for examinations and procedures.
- Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, medications, and reasons for visits.
- Assist providers with examinations and office procedures.
- Prepare examination rooms, maintain supplies, and clean equipment according to office protocols.
- Accurately update patient records using Athena (athenahealth) EMR.
- Assist with patient calls, prescription refill requests, and referrals as directed by the provider.
- Communicate provider instructions to patients as directed.
- Support front office tasks, including patient check-in, scheduling, and insurance verification, as needed.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and follow infection control procedures.
Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant certification required.
- 2–3 years of recent medical assisting experience preferred.
- Must be proficient and comfortable using Athena (athenahealth) EMR.
- Strong knowledge of clinical procedures and medical terminology.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and patient service skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a busy medical practice.
- Reliable, professional, and attentive to detail.
- Availability to work the stated schedule, including occasional Friday coverage.
