Sod Sales & Estimating Representative
Full-Time | Eval-to-Hire | Start ASAP
Pay: $22 per hour (approx. $900 a week) + commission after fully trained
Annual target: ~$50,000+ with commission
About the Role
We are looking for a motivated Sod Sales & Estimating Representative who can grow our business, manage project estimates, and support installation operations when needed. This is a hybrid position where you will meet with contractors, generate quotes, and help coordinate project schedules—while occasionally assisting in the field on installation days.
If you’re comfortable with hands-on outdoor work, enjoy building relationships, and can confidently estimate and sell sod projects, this is a great long-term opportunity.
Responsibilities
- Generate new business with contractors and construction companies
- Prepare accurate quotes and proposals
- Visit job sites to measure and evaluate project needs
- Calculate square footage and material requirements
- Assist with scheduling and coordinating sod installation projects
- Support sod installation crews when necessary (secondary responsibility)
- Build strong relationships with customers and maintain ongoing communication
- Operate company truck (CDL a plus but not required)
- Represent the company professionally on job sites
Ideal Candidate
- Experience in road construction, site construction, landscaping, or sod installation is highly beneficial
- Strong understanding of outdoor labor, site layouts, and measuring job sites
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a crew
- Sales-minded with the ability to spot opportunities and close deals
- Willing and able to step into labor roles on occasion
- No advanced computer skills required
- Must be able to pass a background check and regular drug screen (DST)
- CDL license is a bonus but not required
Compensation
- $900/week during initial evaluation period (approx. $22/hr)
- After fully trained Commission added on top of base pay
- Opportunity to earn $50,000+ per year with performance-based commission
Schedule
- Full-time
- Monday–Friday (occasional flexibility depending on jobs)
