General Manager – Outdoor Event Venue & Hospitality Property

Location: Sumterville, FL
Schedule: Tuesday–Sunday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM (with flexibility)
Compensation: $95,000 base salary + performance bonuses

About the Role

A premier outdoor event and hospitality property in the Sumterville area is seeking a hands-on, relationship-driven General Manager to lead daily operations, deliver exceptional guest experiences, and oversee a growing team. This role is ideal for a seasoned leader who excels in hospitality, event management, or service‑driven environments.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of 5–10 employees, creating an environment built on professionalism, kindness, and teamwork.
  • Train and develop staff to maintain consistent service standards.
  • Serve as a hands-on leader, especially during events and high-demand seasons.

Operations & Property Management

  • Oversee the upkeep and ongoing improvement of the property grounds to ensure a clean, safe, and appealing environment for guests.
  • Be willing to be hands on in the upkeep and building of upgrades.
  • Assist with implementing new facility upgrades and long-term enhancements.
  • Maintain safety procedures and ensure guests have a positive and secure experience.
  • Monitor daily operations and address issues proactively.

Event Oversight

  • Manage a broad range of events, including:
  • Corporate gatherings and team-building days
  • Nonprofit fundraisers and community events
  • Private parties
  • Family-friendly outdoor activities
  • Ensure seamless event planning, coordination, and execution.
  • Oversee booking, scheduling, vendor management, and day-of-event logistics.

Business & Administrative Responsibilities

  • Manage budgeting, financial oversight, and operational planning.
  • Oversee vendor relationships, procurement, and service contracts.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and guest satisfaction.
  • Support marketing initiatives, community outreach, and event promotion.

  • Proven leadership experience in hospitality, events, outdoor recreation, or similar service-focused industries.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage confidently with a diverse customer base.
  • Hands-on leadership approach with a willingness to work alongside the team.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Alignment with the organization’s service-oriented, mission-driven values.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing outdoor properties or hospitality venues.
  • Ability to actively manage and participate in the upkeep and improvement of the property
  • Comfort working in an active outdoor environment.
  • Business management experience (budgeting, staffing, P&L awareness).
