General Manager – Event Venue & Clay Shooting Property

Location: Sumterville, FL
Schedule: Tuesday–Sunday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM (with flexibility)
Compensation: $95,000 base salary + opportunities for performance bonuses

About the Role

A premier outdoor event property and clay shooting venue in the Sumterville area is seeking a hands-on, relationship-driven General Manager to lead daily operations, elevate the guest experience, and guide a growing team. This is an exceptional role for a leader who thrives in hospitality, event management, and service-driven environments.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of 5–10 employees, fostering a culture of professionalism, warmth, and teamwork.
  • Train, coach, and develop staff to ensure consistency and high service standards.
  • Lead by example with a hands-on approach during events and daily operations.

Event Oversight

  • Manage a wide range of events, including:
    • Corporate outings
    • Community fundraisers
    • Nonprofit events
    • Private parties
    • Weddings
    • Clay shooting activities and group experiences
  • Ensure seamless event execution from planning to wrap-up.
  • Oversee booking, scheduling, vendor coordination, and day-of event logistics.

Operations & Facility Management

  • Maintain and improve the property grounds, working closely with staff to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.
  • Assist in implementing new upgrades, facility improvements, and long-term property enhancements.
  • Oversee safety practices, especially those related to shooting activities and guest handling.
  • Monitor range procedures and ensure compliance with all safety protocols.

Business & Administrative Responsibilities

  • Execute budgeting, financial oversight, and operational planning.
  • Manage vendor relationships, procurement, and contracts (catering, groundskeeping, equipment, etc.).
  • Identify ways to increase operational efficiency and strengthen guest satisfaction.
  • Support marketing, community outreach, and event promotion efforts.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven leadership experience in hospitality, event management, outdoor recreation, customer service, or a related industry.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage comfortably with diverse clients and groups.
  • Hands-on leadership style and willingness to work alongside the team during high-volume periods.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • A service-oriented mindset aligned with the company’s mission and values.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience overseeing facilities or grounds.
  • Experience hosting or managing private and corporate events.
  • Comfort working in an outdoor environment.
  • Familiarity with safety practices related to firearms or shooting sports (not required; training can be provided).
  • Business management background, including budgeting and P&L understanding.
