Overview
A growing manufacturing organization in Central Florida is seeking a Plant Controller to lead the financial operations of a key business unit. This role serves as a strategic partner to plant leadership and corporate finance, ensuring accurate financial reporting, driving operational insights, and supporting data-driven decision-making.
This is a high-impact opportunity for a hands-on, self-sufficient accounting leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and can take ownership of processes, problem-solving, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all plant-level accounting and financial reporting activities
- Manage month-end close, including journal entries and account reconciliations
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts
- Develop and present detailed variance analysis and actionable insights
- Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) to operations and leadership
- Partner closely with plant leadership to identify cost drivers and improve performance
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls
- Support internal and external audits
- Drive process improvements, automation, and best practices
- Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving initiatives
- Prepare and present financial updates to senior leadership
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience
- Strong manufacturing accounting experience required (job costing and standard costing highly preferred)
- Proven ability to manage the full close process independently
- Experience with ERP systems (JobScope, Oracle, or similar)
- Advanced Excel and data analysis skills
- Working knowledge of GAAP
- CPA or CPA track preferred
