Assistant Manager - Private Hunting & Fishing Club

Job Type: Full-time

Pay Range: $40k Per Year + weekly tips (avg $200 - $800)
Benefits: Onsite Housing (2 bed/1bath + utilities paid for), Kitchen staff provides meals (Oct – May), Health Insurance, Paid Time Off, Club Privileges

Position Overview

A private hunting and fishing club is seeking a motivated, hands-on Assistant Manager to support the daily operations, maintenance, and member experience of 3,000 acre waterfront property. This position works closely with club leadership to ensure the property, grounds, facilities, equipment, and recreational amenities are consistently maintained to the highest standards.

The ideal candidate is someone who loves the outdoors, takes pride in caring for land and equipment, and can be trusted to work independently with minimal supervision. This role requires a combination of hospitality, property maintenance, equipment operation, and member interaction. Background check and drug test required for employment.

Key Responsibilities

Property & Grounds Maintenance

  • Ability to operate tractors and boats required
  • Assist with tree work, land management projects, landscaping, and general property upkeep.
  • Help maintain facilities, lodging accommodations, docks, storage areas, and recreational spaces.
  • Monitor equipment and facilities to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Maintain club grounds, roads, trails, food plots, and common areas.

Boating & Waterfront Operations

  • Launch, retrieve, clean, fuel, and maintain club boats.
  • Safely operate vessels on club waterways as needed.
  • Assist with dock maintenance and boating operations.
  • Follow all boating safety procedures and applicable regulations.

Hunting & Recreation Support

  • Assist with hunting, fishing, and outdoor recreation activities as needed.
  • Support wildlife and habitat management initiatives.
  • Maintain equipment associated with hunting and fishing operations.
  • Ensure safe handling and storage of firearms and related equipment.

Member Services & Club Operations

  • Provide excellent service and support to club members and guests.
  • Assist with seasonal operations during peak member activity periods.
  • Work collaboratively with management to ensure a high-quality club experience.
  • Respond to operational needs and prioritize tasks effectively.

Qualifications

Required

  • Strong hospitality and member-service mindset.
  • Demonstrated integrity, reliability, and professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to perform both hands-on and operational responsibilities.
  • Experience operating tractors, boats, mowers, utility vehicles, hand tools, and maintenance equipment.
  • Experience working with firearms and understanding safe handling practices.
  • Ability to safely operate boats and tractors on the property.
  • General knowledge of vessel operation, maintenance, boating regulations, and safety practices.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing operational needs.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
  • Flexible availability during busy club seasons.
