Junior Attorney – Family Law

Location: Stuart, FL
Schedule: Full-time, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (occasional weekends as needed)
Compensation: $55,000 – $70,000 annually (commensurate with experience)

Position Overview: Express Employment Professionals is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Attorney for our local client—a growing family law practice located in Stuart, FL. The ideal candidate will be intelligent, compassionate, and driven, with strong research and analytical skills, and the ability to excel in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. This role requires exceptional organizational abilities, excellent communication skills, and a solid understanding of procedural and evidentiary rules.

 

The successful candidate will manage an active caseload, collaborate closely within a team-oriented environment, and contribute to delivering outstanding legal services to clients navigating complex family law matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of approximately 30–50 family law cases from intake through final judgment.
  • Prepare and participate in hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, parenting plans, proposed judgments, and legal memoranda.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis; identify issues and propose solutions.
  • Analyze financial documents; calculate child support and equitable distribution.
  • Conduct case evaluations for potential clients and assist with billing support as needed.
  • Maintain organized case files and ensure all deadlines are met.
  • Manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment while balancing multiple priorities.
  • Provide outstanding customer service and maintain a professional demeanor in all client interactions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school with a GPA of 3.5 or higher preferred.
  • Licensed to practice law in the State of [Insert State].
  • 0–3 years of experience in family, criminal, or civil law; recent law school graduates with relevant internships or clinic experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong understanding of rules of civil procedure and rules of evidence (non-negotiable).
  • Exceptional legal research and writing skills; a writing sample will be required.
  • Moot court or law review participation preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to take direction, accept feedback, and demonstrate a hunger to learn.
  • Commitment to client service, teamwork, honesty, and professionalism.
