Express Employment Professionals, Atlanta NE location has an immediate job opportunity for an experience Sewing Operator in the Tucker, GA area.
Job summary:
Temp to hire position for an experienced sewing machine operator. The Sewing Repair Support Associate is responsible for performing non-sewing repairs on protective garments. Additionally, the Repair Support Associate will be responsible for recording all repairs performed on the garments. This role calls for an individual with exceptional attention to detail.
Other responsibilities include providing support to sewing repair production by performing tasks required for making sewn repairs that may fall outside regular production. Some simple sewing may be required.
Essential Functions:
- Operate commercial testing and repair equipment
- Perform weekly maintenance on testing and repair equipment (oil, cleaning, etc.)
- Simple sewing tasks could include closing liner systems and making small parts
- Shorten or lengthen the pants, shirts, vest, jackets or uniforms to the measurements
Education and Experience Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Must be able to read and comprehend English language instructions.
- Willingness to learn simple sewing techniques on commercial sewing machines.
- Ability to learn standards applicable to repairs and to perform repairs that comply to them.
- Ability to work within a multi-functional team
- Previous Seamstress experience desired
Facility is climate controlled. Hours are Monday-Friday 7:00a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (40-hour work week with optional over-time).
