Job Full Description
Express Employment Professionals is now hiring a Paint/Gelcoat Specialist for a leading manufacturing company in Valdosta, GA. This position is ideal for experienced painters or gelcoat professionals who take pride in producing high-quality finishes and working in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
What You’ll Do
- Perform surface preparation, painting, gelcoat application, and final finishing
- Operate and maintain paint equipment and automated paint systems
- Complete cosmetic and finish repairs on vessels as needed
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality and durability standards are met
- Follow detailed technical instructions and finish specifications
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Properly handle paint materials, chemicals, and PPE
- Complete required production and quality documentation
- Participate in process improvement and team meetings
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 5+ years of experience in boat finishing, automotive painting, gelcoat application, or related finishing environments
- Experience with epoxy-based paint systems preferred
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Basic computer skills required
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Familiarity with OSHA and manufacturing safety standards preferred
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work throughout the shift
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs regularly
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing and paint environment
- Ability to wear required PPE and respirator equipment as needed
- May require occasional overtime or weekend work
Location: Valdosta, GA
Schedule: Mon-Fri, 7AM - 4PM
Pay: $17/hr + BOE
