Injection Mold Maintenance Technician

$20.00 - $26.00/hr DOE

 

 

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Injection Mold Maintenance Technician to join our clients manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, hands-on experience with injection molding machines, and a thorough understanding of mold maintenance and repair procedures. As an Injection Mold Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the proper functioning, longevity, and efficiency of our injection molding equipment and molds.

 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on injection molding machines, molds, and associated equipment.
  • Disassemble, clean, inspect, and reassemble molds, identifying and addressing any signs of wear, damage, or degradation.
  • Collaborate with production teams to schedule mold changes, ensuring minimal downtime and smooth production processes.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance activities to proactively address potential issues and maintain equipment reliability.
  • Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues affecting injection molding machines and related systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and spare parts inventory.
  • Work closely with engineers and toolmakers to assist in mold modifications, improvements, and enhancements.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior technicians and machine operators on proper equipment handling, maintenance, and safety practices.

 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training in injection molding or related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience as an Injection Mold Maintenance Technician or similar role within a manufacturing environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of injection molding machines, molds, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiarity with precision measuring instruments and tools.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently under time constraints.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with colleagues across different departments.
  • Flexibility to work in shifts and handle occasional overtime when required.
  • Commitment to safety protocols and best practices in a manufacturing setting.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift heavy molds and equipment (up to 50 lbs) and work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Comfort with standing, bending, and performing tasks requiring dexterity for extended periods.

 

Pay:

$20.00 - $28.00/hour DOE
