Finance Director – Casino Operations
Location: Lewiston, ID
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
Pay: $100,000–$120,000 annually (negotiable for the right candidate)
We are recruiting an experienced Finance Director for a casino organization. This senior leadership position oversees financial operations across gaming and non-gaming businesses, including the finance team, cash cage, and vault.
We are seeking a finance leader who can manage people, maintain strong financial controls, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide meaningful financial guidance to executive leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the finance department, cash cage, and vault, including staff development, training, and accountability.
- Oversee accounting and financial reporting, including budgets, financial statements, bank reconciliations, payroll-related financial information, tax reporting, and year-end closing.
- Maintain effective cash management procedures and internal controls to safeguard organizational funds and assets.
- Coordinate financial and vault audits while ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards, gaming regulations, and Tribal, federal, state, and tax requirements.
- Analyze financial performance, prepare forecasts and cash-flow projections, and identify opportunities to improve financial processes.
- Provide financial reports, analysis, and recommendations to executive leadership.
- Collaborate with department managers to support operational goals and financial accountability.
Required Qualifications
The following requirements are non-negotiable:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Public Administration, or Finance.
- Ability to obtain a Gaming License, plus a valid driver’s license and the ability to be insured under the Tribe’s policy.
- At least 3 years of accounting or finance experience and 3 years of supervisory experience.
Additional qualifications include:
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, budgeting, financial reporting, forecasting, cash management, audits, and internal controls.
- Understanding of applicable gaming, Tribal, federal, state, tax, and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to analyze financial information, improve financial processes, and present recommendations to leadership.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and the ability to learn organization-specific financial systems.
- Ability to manage confidential information, competing priorities, and deadlines.
Preferred: Experience in gaming, Tribal enterprises, hospitality, government, or multi-entity operations. A master’s degree, CPA, CMA, or other relevant certification is also preferred.
