1st Shift CNC Set-Up & Operator – Carpentersville, IL
Our client located in Carpentersville, IL is looking for a 1st Shift CNC Set-Up & Operator to join their team! In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, adjusting, and operating CNC machinery to produce high-quality precision parts.
In this position, you will:
- Set up, operate, and maintain CNC machines while following work orders, blueprints, and standard instructions
- Perform machine adjustments, tool changes, and basic maintenance to ensure accurate production
- Monitor quality and productivity by performing inspections and maintaining acceptable output levels
- Handle bar stock, clean parts, manage scrap, and maintain coolant/oil levels
- Support continuous improvement by reducing non-value-added activities and maintaining a safe, organized work environment
Requirements:
- Ability to perform basic CNC machine operations using blueprints, drawings, and procedures
- Ability to communicate in English and follow written and verbal instructions
- 1–3 years of related work experience
- High school diploma or equivalent, with basic reading, writing, and math skills
- Ability to read and understand basic CNC part programs
- Ability to perform quality checks using verniers, micrometers, ring gages, plug gages, and pin gages
- Willingness to work in a team environment with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement
