Job Full Description

Warehouse/Driver will work closely with Shipping & Receiving Coordinator and Forklift Driver to coordinate daily pick-ups and deliveries of goods in an efficient and timely manner. Assist when possible with receiving by reviewing packing list of received goods and attach to proper purchase order and distribute to department leads

Requires: Class C License

Pay Rate: $19-21 hr

Location: Near Midway

 

Duties:
1. Utilize all material handling equipment safely, efficiently and consistently. Report to immediate supervisor of any safety, quality, product location/organization, efficiency issues and any equipment malfunctions in a timely manner.
2. Audit Pick Sheets, Bills of Lading and other shipping documents for accuracy, assure paperwork aligns with actual physical product being shipped.
3. Inspect skids to assure they are properly wrapped, banded and secured for safe transport without damage.
4. Oversee the loading of truck to assure tight & efficient loads.
5. Keep specific customer orders staged for shipping …. All in one location.
6. Assist in expediting orders to ship on time…. proactive pulling of orders.
7. checks if proper inventory has been picked and assure accuracy by auditing packing slips and picking sheets.
8. No shipping any product or materials without proper paperwork. Anything leaving Client property must have paperwork and proper authorization.
9. Assure rear wheels on trucks up against docks are chocked and dock plates are properly aligned with truck bed before loading or unloading freight.
10. Inspects loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications, legal load limits of trucks/containers according to established schedules.
11. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in and around truck docks.
12. Inspects material handling equipment and forklifts used for shipping & receiving and notifies maintenance personnel or contacts outside service facility for repair.
13. Keep vehicle (Truck) maintenance report, city sticker and integrity of vehicle.

 

Assist in the following areas when possible

14. Before unloading any freight, be sure to check that Client has a Purchase Order for product/material and that order has been released for delivery.
15. No receiving of any product without proper paperwork and/or purchase order.

16. Use appropriate equipment to load or unload freight.
17. Inspect incoming product, material, freight for signs of damage, product identification, accurate counts, before signing off on Bill of Lading. Any inaccuracies must be documented accordingly and inform immediate supervisor to coordinate process.
18. Check in all material by clearly marking items on packing slips. Be sure to sign and date all paperwork checked by you.
19. Post all the receiving product or material into computer system and update the required modules. Check with management for process on discrepancies, unusual or uncertain receivers.
20. Assure that all incoming packages and product are delivered to proper personnel and departments in a timely manner.
21. Print labels with part number and quantity before materials are moved into stock.
22. Keep all inventory areas organized and utilize space efficiently.
