Customer Service Representative - construction materials distributor July 17, 2025

Located in Bridgeview, IL

Pay: $17-22/hour

A construction materials distributor in Bridgeview, IL is seeking a Customer Service Representative to join their team.

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries, quotes, orders, and concerns.
Build and maintain positive relationships with clients through effective communication and understanding of their needs.
Provide product information, pricing details, and technical support to customers.

Order Processing:
- Efficiently process customer quotes & orders, ensuring accuracy in product selection, quantity, and pricing.
- Collaborate with the sales team and warehouse personnel to facilitate timely order fulfillment.
- Monitor order status and proactively communicate updates to customers
Problem Resolution:
- Address and resolve customer issues and concerns in a timely and satisfactory manner.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve technical or logistical challenges related to product delivery and quality.
- Create credit memos for sales tax exempt projects when certificates are provided.
Product Knowledge:
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of our product line and stay updated on industry trends.
- Assist customers with product selection and provide technical information as needed.
Communication and Coordination:

Communicate effectively with internal teams, including sales, logistics, and finance, to ensure seamless customer experiences.
Collaborate with the sales team to identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities.
Other tasks and job duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
Previous customer service experience, preferably in a wholesale or distribution environment.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
Proficiency in using SAP Business One & Microsoft Office 365 software helpful.
Knowledge of insulation products and construction industry trends is a plus.
Problem-solving skills and a customer-centric mindset.

Working Conditions:

This position is typically office-based with occasional interaction with warehouse operations.
Some flexibility in working hours may be required to accommodate customer needs.
