Express is looking for a reliable HR ASSISTANT for one our great clients near 65th and Harlem.
HR Support Specialist
· Set up new hire information and conduct new hire orientation; onboarding new employees, including monitoring of new hire probationary period performance
· Assist HR Manager with injury claims, discipline, insurance, COBRA, FMLA, retirement plan, Safety, OSHA records
· Assist with group insurance benefits renewals; prepare censuses; open enrollment
· Process vacation and time off requests; update calendar
· Coordinate with employment agencies as needed (including tracking hours, submitting time sheets and approving invoices; monitoring temp to hire status)
· Maintain and update Seniority & Skills Matrix
· Maintain and update attendance tracker; facilitate verbal and written warnings for poor attendance/points
· Maintain and update approved driver tracker
· Plan and lead employee events, including lunches, required annual training & meetings
· Organize and keep stock (orders for Amazon/Sam's club) of office supplies, basic first aid supplies, plates/napkins/plastic utensils, etc.
· Phone support
· HR Desk time every Tuesday, alternating buildings.
· As member of Safety Committee:
1. Prepare agenda, attend meetings and take notes, send minutes and follow up on action items
2. Responsible for issuance of respirators (scheduling employees for initial/annual testing and related training, maintaining records, updating posting of approved wearers)
3. Prepare memos of best practices/reminders of safety protocols for posting
4. Responsible for coordinating annual safety training; oversee documenting of certificates of completion for employees
5. Maintain SDS binder, Haz com program and safety labels for products
6. Keep stock of required personal protective equipment
7. Weekly HR/Safety walkthroughs in both buildings
