Staff Accountant – Manufacturing Environment (Chicago – Midway Area)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM Salary: $80,000–$90,000 per year (based on 5–10 years of hands-on accounting experience)
About the Role
This position supports the CFO in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, handling full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, and daily operational accounting tasks. Ideal for someone with strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and experience working with ERF/ERP systems and Sage 100.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

Assist with month-end close activities.

Maintain and review the general ledger; post, review, and adjust journal entries.

Conduct bank reconciliations and reconcile other financial accounts for accuracy and completeness.

Perform budgeting and forecasting support; analyze variances between actual and projected results.

Support internal and external audits by gathering documentation and responding to auditor requests.

Perform account analysis to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.

Utilize Sage 100, ERF/ERP systems, and other accounting software to manage financial data.

Complete inventory reconciliation and support manufacturing-related costing and reporting.

Match purchase orders to invoices and ensure accuracy in accounts payable workflows.

Process and manage Accounts Payable transactions.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial practices and business objectives.

Report directly to the CFO; this position has no direct reports.
Qualifications

5–10 years of hands-on accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and general ledger management.

Experience with Sage 100 and ERF/ERP systems.

Strong understanding of inventory processes and reconciliation.

Experience with purchase order matching and accounts payable.

Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
