Our client, a leading manufacturer specializing in armored vehicle production and customization, is seeking a skilled and dependable Welder to join their growing production team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with steel, interpreting blueprints, and operating welding equipment in a manufacturing environment. This position plays a critical role in fabricating and assembling vehicle components while maintaining the highest standards of quality, precision, and safety.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform MIG welding on steel components according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Fabricate, fit, and assemble vehicle components and structural parts.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and technical drawings.
- Inspect welds to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Grind, clean, and prepare metal surfaces before and after welding.
- Operate welding equipment and fabrication tools safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment.
- Report equipment malfunctions, defects, or quality concerns to supervision.
- Follow all workplace safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Collaborate with team members and other departments to meet production goals and schedules.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Proficiency in MIG welding; TIG welding experience is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Experience using measuring tools, grinders, saws, and other fabrication equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Welding certification preferred but not required.
- Experience with armored vehicles, automotive fabrication, metal fabrication, or heavy manufacturing environments is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach throughout the workday.
- Lift, push, pull, and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, welding fumes, and varying temperatures.
- Ability to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and welding equipment.
