Our client, a well-established manufacturer and distributor of automotive appearance products, performance fluids, and specialty chemical solutions, is seeking dependable and motivated Distribution Center Warehouse Associate to join their warehouse team. This position is responsible for all aspects of warehouse operations, including order picking, shipping, receiving, inventory handling, scanner usage, and ecommerce order fulfillment.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced distribution environment with mandatory overtime as needed.
Work Schedule & Overtime
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assign storage locations for materials and finished products under the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor.
- Accurately pick customer orders based on pick tickets and bills of lading.
- Verify order accuracy and participate in quality checks with team members.
- Prepare and package orders for shipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Load shipment containers manually or by pallet, depending on customer requirements.
- Inspect products for damage or defects before shipment.
- Operate warehouse equipment, including hand trucks and forklifts, to move materials and fulfill orders.
- Assist truck drivers with loading and verifying shipment quantities.
- Utilize warehouse scanners and inventory management systems to track products and orders.
- Process and prepare UPS shipments.
- Support ecommerce order preparation, packaging, and shipping activities.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding workflow, inventory concerns, and operational issues.
- Assist team members as workload demands.
- Operate forklifts safely and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Previous warehouse, shipping, receiving, or distribution experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Forklift certification or the ability to become certified through company training.
- Experience using RF scanners or warehouse scanning systems preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently stand, walk, bend, lift, reach, and move throughout the warehouse.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull products and materials throughout the shift.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse and distribution environment.
- Safely operate warehouse equipment and material-handling machinery.
