COLD - Packer / Assembler - 1st Shift
A leading cold storage and food logistics facility in Bedford Park is seeking reliable Assemblers/Packers to join their production team. In this role, you will package products after the High Pressure Pasteurization (HPP) process and perform quality inspections to ensure products meet safety and quality standards.
Bedford Park, IL (Near 65th & Harlem)
Shift: Monday-Friday, 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM
Current Schedule: Mandatory overtime through end of year, working 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Saturday Overtime: Available
Important: This position works in a cold production environment (approximately 30°F). Non-slip work shoes are required. Regular gym shoes are not acceptable.
Responsibilities
- Package products into containers and cartons
- Conduct quality control checks on product labels, leaks, and damaged packaging
- Set up cylinders, tables, and required forms at the start of each shift
- Identify and remove non-conforming products or packaging from the production line
- Report equipment or machinery issues to the maintenance team
- Complete daily production documentation and reporting
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow all safety policies, procedures, and food safety regulations
Requirements
- Basic math skills
- Ability to understand and follow work instructions
- Ability to work in cold temperatures and wear required PPE
- Ability to lift at least 20 lbs.
- Comfortable working in a production environment with varying noise levels
- Ability to work overtime and occasional weekends as needed
- Reliable attendance and strong attention to detail
