Perform rough and finish machining on generator and turbine components to tight tolerances

Machine a variety of metal parts including shafts, rotors, flanges, and housings

Set up machines, select proper tooling, and adjust feeds/speeds based on material and job requirements

Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical manuals

Follow detailed specifications and tolerances for complex part geometries

Assemble and disassemble turbines, generators, and rotating equipment using hand and power tools

Align and fit components precisely using micrometers, dial indicators, and other precision instruments

Inspect machined parts and assemblies for dimensional accuracy and functionality

Document measurements and inspection results as part of quality control

Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines and tools

Follow all safety protocols including lockout/tagout, PPE use, and proper lifting techniques

Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and fellow machinists on repair plans and timelines

Provide input on part condition, repair methods, and improvement opportunities

Maintain a clean and organized work environment
