Location: Ottawa IL
Pay: $18.50/HR-$21.50/HR
Schedule: M-F 6:00am to 4:30pm - no weekends!

Express Employment has teamed up with a growing manufacturer in Spring Valley, IL who is looking to add reliable CNC Machine Operators to their team. This role involves checking products for defects, loading and unloading pallets (50+lbs), and requires weekend availability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, and monitor laser cutting machines and stamping presses, including start-up and shut-down procedures, material loading, tool installation, and equipment securing to meet production specifications.
- Interpret technical blueprints, CAD/CAM files, and engineering cut files; verify ply orientation, nesting layouts, and program accuracy prior to production.
- Load and execute automated machine programs (including G-code), calibrating machine parameters such as speed, gas flow, and material feed to achieve precise cuts and stamped parts.
- Utilize overhead cranes, forklifts, hand tools, and precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, tape measures) to safely handle materials and verify dimensional accuracy.
- Perform in-process and final inspections, measuring parts to ensure compliance with quality standards; identify defects, stop production when necessary, and troubleshoot issues in real time.
- Inspect cut plies for accuracy, completeness, and defects; label, organize, and kit materials for downstream production teams.
- Conduct routine operator maintenance, including machine cleaning, blade changes, lubrication, and basic troubleshooting to maintain consistent machine performance.
- Accurately record material usage, scrap, waste, and production data within Windows-based systems per company procedures.
- Maintain a safe, organized work environment by adhering to ISO, OSHA, and company safety standards, including proper PPE usage and housekeeping practices.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, production staff, and leadership to ensure on-time delivery, quality compliance, and continuous process improvement.
- Move raw materials, coils, bins, racks, and finished components to and from machines using appropriate material-handling equipment.
- Apply shop math, machining principles, and mechanical knowledge to support accurate setups, inspections, and efficient production flow.
note: Candidates must be willing to work in a team setting, have great communication skills (written and verbal), and must be able to pass a background check.
