Horizontal Mill Setup Technician
Express Employment Professionals is partnered with a reputable manufacturing company in Wyoming, IL seeking a Horizontal Mill Setup Technician to join their team.
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour, based on experience
Schedule: Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday
Hours: 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and dependable Horizontal Mill Setup Technician to set up and operate horizontal milling machines in a production environment. The ideal candidate will have machining experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to maintain quality standards while meeting production goals.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate horizontal milling machines according to job specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings
- Select and install tooling, fixtures, and machine offsets
- Perform first-piece inspections and quality checks
- Make machine adjustments to ensure dimensional accuracy
- Troubleshoot machining issues and recommend solutions
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards
Qualifications
- Previous machining and mill setup experience preferred
- Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring instruments
- Knowledge of machine tooling, feeds, speeds, and setup procedures
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
- Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic
