Industrial Painter
Location: Lacon, IL
Pay: $20-$24
Job Overview:
Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced Industrial Painter for a growing company in Lacon, IL. This position is responsible for preparing, painting, and finishing metal components and fabricated products while ensuring a high-quality finish that meets company and customer standards. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of industrial painting experience, have knowledge in surface preparation, coating applications, and paint equipment operation, and can work efficiently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare metal surfaces for painting through cleaning, sanding, grinding, masking, and other surface preparation methods.
- Mix and apply industrial coatings, primers, and paints according to specifications.
- Operate spray guns, paint booths, and related painting equipment.
- Inspect finished products to ensure proper coverage, finish quality, and adherence to specifications.
- Maintain paint equipment and perform routine cleaning and preventative maintenance.
- Read and interpret work orders, paint specifications, and production schedules.
- Identify and correct paint defects such as runs, drips, incomplete coverage, or improper finish quality.
- Follow all safety procedures related to paint handling, ventilation systems, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of industrial painting experience.
- Experience applying industrial coatings using spray equipment.
- Knowledge of paint mixing, surface preparation, and finishing techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a production environment.
