Position Summary

The company is seeking a Quality Coordinator for its facility located approximately 30–40 minutes south of the Columbus metro area. In this role, you will oversee key quality assurance functions to ensure compliance with IATF 16949 requirements. You will supervise and mentor a skilled technical team, maintain quality systems from incoming materials through finished goods, and serve as the acting Quality Manager when needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure daily plant operations meet all quality standards, procedures, and customer requirements.

  • Maintain and improve the document control system and support audit readiness for internal, customer, and third-party audits.

  • Drive compliance with IATF 16949 and Q4 standards through monitoring, updates, and corrective actions.

  • Review nonconforming material, support disposition decisions, and help prevent recurrence.

  • Support customer issue resolution through timely corrective and preventive actions.

  • Track and communicate quality metrics, customer scorecards, and performance trends to leadership.

  • Ensure parts meet all tolerance and specification requirements and maintain accurate measurement systems.

  • Use statistical tools, gaging, and lab equipment to support capability studies, SPC, and quality verification.

  • Monitor scrap, rework, rejects, and supplier quality, identifying root causes and improvement opportunities.

  • Lead structured problem-solving activities (5-Why, 8D) and coach quality inspectors in daily operations.

  • Support training on quality tools and collaborate cross-functionally to address quality concerns.

  • Assist with PPAP documentation, including control plans, PFMEAs, and process flows.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

  • 7–10 years of experience in a quality-focused manufacturing environment.

  • 3+ years of experience training and managing teams.

  • Strong background in quality methodologies (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, etc.).

  • Extensive experience with documentation and quality systems (FMEA, APQP, PPAP, GD&T, 5S).

  • Hands-on experience with IATF 16949 audits.

  • Strong understanding of supplier quality processes.
