Logistics Manager
Salary: $70,000–$78,000 + Excellent Benefits
A fast-paced operation is seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to lead all inbound and outbound logistics functions, manage freight operations, and oversee a high-performing team. This role is ideal for a process-driven leader with strong analytical skills, proven supervisory experience, and a deep understanding of shipping, receiving, and freight coordination.
Position Overview
The Logistics Manager is responsible for ensuring efficient, cost-effective movement of materials and finished goods. This includes managing carrier relationships, scheduling shipments, resolving logistics issues, analyzing freight costs, and maintaining compliance with safety and operational standards. The role also involves team leadership, performance management, and continuous improvement of logistics processes.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM
Key Responsibilities
Logistics & Freight Management
- Oversee all inbound and outbound freight operations
- Schedule LTL and full truckload shipments; coordinate incoming deliveries
- Track shipments, monitor delivery performance, and resolve delays or issues
- Analyze freight costs, transit times, and negotiate improvements with carriers
- Investigate damages or errors, conduct root-cause analysis, and file claims
- Manage Amazon and small-parcel shipments, including issue resolution and invoicing
- Coordinate trade show shipments and assist with packing when needed
Team Leadership
- Supervise logistics staff, manage schedules, approve timecards, and provide backup support
- Conduct training, performance reviews, and annual evaluations
- Ensure adherence to safety, GMP, and operational standards
- Lead daily/weekly/monthly tasks and communicate priorities clearly
Operational Excellence
- Maintain accurate shipping documentation, tracking reports, and freight analysis
- Update SOPs and ensure processes are fully documented
- Support cycle counts, year-end inventory, and staging bin reconciliation
- Lead logistics budgeting and cost-saving initiatives
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth production and distribution flow
Customer & Vendor Communication
- Communicate professionally with customers, carriers, and vendors
- Provide updates on backorders, production status, and shipment timing
- Represent the organization with a high level of service and professionalism
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred
- Minimum 5 years of logistics experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
- Prior supervisory experience required
- Strong knowledge of shipping, receiving, freight coordination, and TMS/EDI systems
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in MS Office; strong analytical and root-cause analysis abilities
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
- Valid forklift operator license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a warehouse environment
Work Environment
- Warehouse setting with exposure to noise, moving equipment, chemicals, and varying temperatures
- Requires standing, walking, bending, lifting, and operating warehouse equipment
