Manufacturing Engineering Manager
Global Supplier | 30-40 Minutes South of the Columbus, IN Metro Area
Salary: Up to $155,000 + Annual Bonus
Our client is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead a team of manufacturing engineers and drive operational excellence within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
This leadership role is responsible for developing and improving manufacturing processes, supporting new product launches, driving continuous improvement initiatives, managing capital investments, and building a high-performing engineering team. The ideal candidate will bring strong machining, or metal industry experience along with a proven ability to lead teams and improve manufacturing performance.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, and develop the Manufacturing Engineering team.
- Ensure the organization has the appropriate engineering structure, technical expertise, and resources to support business objectives.
- Develop training, performance, and succession plans to strengthen engineering talent.
Manufacturing Process Development
- Oversee the development and implementation of manufacturing processes for new product launches.
- Create and communicate process flows, manufacturing plans, and sourcing requirements.
- Support equipment utilization, capacity planning, and production timing requirements.
- Implement and promote best practices across manufacturing operations.
Project & Launch Management
- Manage engineering activities associated with process launches and new program implementation.
- Oversee the selection and sourcing of manufacturing equipment and technologies.
- Drive projects to meet cost, quality, timing, and performance objectives.
- Manage capital expenditure (CapEx) budgets and investment initiatives.
Continuous Improvement & Operational Support
- Analyze process performance data to identify opportunities to improve quality, productivity, safety, yield, and equipment uptime.
- Lead efforts to reduce manufacturing costs while optimizing operational efficiency.
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support for complex manufacturing challenges.
- Support production operations through root cause analysis and problem-solving initiatives.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure manufacturing processes meet quality standards and risk mitigation requirements.
- Promote adherence to engineering procedures, standards, and operational best practices.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in metals, machining industry
- 3+ years of progressive leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience developing manufacturing processes and supporting product launches.
- Strong understanding of capacity planning, equipment utilization, and capital project management.
- Proven ability to lead teams and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
