Job Title: Manufacturing Supervisor (Long-Term Contract position)
Location: Greenwood, Indiana
A leading industrial manufacturing and service organization in the Greenwood area is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Supervisor to oversee repair and reconditioning operations within a technical service environment. This role is ideal for a proven manufacturing leader who enjoys being on the shop floor, developing teams, driving performance, and ensuring high-quality service delivery.
This is a long-term contract opportunity through December 2027 with the potential for permanent hire. The selected candidate will play a critical role in leading daily operations, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring a safe, productive, and quality-focused work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise workshop employees and daily shop operations.
- Maintain an active presence on the shop floor to drive employee engagement, productivity, and performance.
- Support production scheduling, workload planning, and operational coordination.
- Partner with leadership and HR on recruiting, staffing, employee development, and performance management.
- Recruit, interview, hire, and onboard shop personnel.
- Track and report labor utilization, productivity, and key performance metrics.
- Address performance concerns and employee relations matters in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 standards and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Maintain Quality Management System (QMS) documentation and support corrective action activities.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing principles, including 5S, Kaizen, and process optimization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide exceptional customer service and operational support.
Salary: $85,000 annually
Employment Type: Long-term contract through December 2027 with potential for permanent hire.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience within a manufacturing, repair, reconditioning, service center, or job shop environment.
- Experience supervising technicians, machinists, welders, or skilled trades teams.
- Strong understanding of machining, welding, repair, and reconditioning operations.
- Experience working within ISO 9001 and Quality Management Systems (QMS).
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools including 5S, Kaizen, and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including reporting and Pivot Tables.
- Ability to analyze operational metrics and drive process improvements.
- Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
- Basic financial and business acumen related to shop operations and labor utilization.
