Assembler – Lafayette, IN
Pay: $19.00–$21.00/hour, depending on experience
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable, hands-on Assembler to join a manufacturing/fabrication team. This position is responsible for producing components and finished products by assembling parts and subassemblies according to specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble parts, components, and subassemblies according to work instructions and specifications.
- Read and follow basic blueprints, drawings, assembly instructions, and part lists.
- Position parts using templates and measurements.
- Examine connections and components to ensure proper fit before fastening and assembly.
- Measure completed components to verify they meet specifications.
- Identify and communicate assembly or quality issues to supervisors.
- Use hand tools, clamps, and other equipment required for assembly.
- Perform basic preventative maintenance and report equipment malfunctions.
- Complete required production and quality documentation.
- Maintain inventory of parts and supplies as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Work as part of a team to meet daily production goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous manufacturing or assembly experience preferred.
- 2+ years of assembly experience preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints, drawings, and measurements.
- Comfortable using hand tools, clamps, and related equipment.
- Basic understanding of quality control and inspection.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good hand-eye coordination and mechanical aptitude.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
