Shear/Turret Operator – 1st Shift

We are seeking an experienced Shear Operator for a full-time, first-shift opportunity with a local metal fabrication company. This position is responsible for operating power shear equipment to cut various types of metal to specified dimensions while maintaining accuracy, quality, and safety standards.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
Overtime: Some overtime may be requested based on production needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate power shear equipment to cut sheets, plates, bars, and other metal materials to specifications.
• Position and align materials using guides, stops, and layout lines.
• Load and position materials manually or with hoists/cranes as needed.
• Set machine stops and gauges to achieve accurate cuts.
• Verify finished dimensions using tape measures, calipers, or templates.
• Work with a variety of materials, including aluminum, steel, stainless steel, copper, and brass.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience operating shear cutting machines.
• Previous experience working with sheet metal.
• Knowledge of tooling and basic tool maintenance.
• Strong measurement skills, including fractions and decimal conversions.
• Ability to identify different types of metal.
• Basic AutoCAD knowledge.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
