Job Full Description
A privately held wire and cable manufacturing company is looking for reliable Production/Machine Operators. You will be setting up, operating, and monitoring equipment used to manufacture wire and cable products.
Responsibilities:
- Review and follow daily priority schedule
- Review and interpret router and/or drawings of the product to be run
- Set up the machine and locate the product to be run
- Load the product to be run (Pay Out) and the take up (the empty spool on which the product will be placed)
- Start the machine and take a sample to ensure that product is within specification
- Ability to discern differences in color hue
- Restart the machine and monitor the line to ensure that specifications are maintained
- Complete finished tags and/or labels for the completed product
- Complete other information, as required, and the daily log sheets
- Perform all work in a safe manner
- Clean and maintain good housekeeping habits and follow prescribed safety regulations throughout the shift
- Report any unsafe conditions, maintenance problems, or any other issues that occurred on the shift to the supervisor
- Attend monthly shift and Safety meetings
Schedule and Pay:
- Mon-Fri 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am
- Must be able to work overtime on Saturdays
- $18.00/hour
Requirements:
- At least 6 months of manufacturing experience
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Steel toed boots
- Basic understanding of standard measuring instruments such as a ruler, measuring tape, caliper, micrometer
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
- Drug test
- Background check
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
