Job Title: Accounting Operations Specialist
Location: Davenport, IA
Pay: $24–$28/hour (based on experience)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM or 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Position Summary
A leading mechanical construction company in Davenport, IA is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounting Operations Specialist to join their team. This role is critical in supporting financial operations, ensuring accuracy in billing, and maintaining strong vendor relationships. The ideal candidate will have experience in the construction industry and a strong foundation in accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and manage weekly billing for a major customer with a high degree of accuracy
- Review, code, and enter vendor invoices into the accounting system
- Maintain organized and up-to-date invoice filing systems (digital and/or paper)
- Prepare and process monthly check runs
- Communicate with vendors and internal teams to resolve discrepancies
- Assist with general accounting tasks and support month-end closing activities
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (preferred)
- 2+ years of accounts payable or general accounting experience
- Prior experience in the construction industry is strongly preferred
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Word, and Outlook)
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
