About the Company
Express Employment is seeking a qualified Carpenter for a local construction company in Clinton, IA. This position will be responsible for installing structures and fixtures, constructing building frameworks, and working alongside laborers and other construction helpers to complete projects. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a solid understanding of carpentry.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow blueprints, building plans, project specifications, and client requirements.
- Install structures and fixtures including windows, molding, cabinets, and other components.
- Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and other construction materials.
- Construct building frameworks including floors, walls, trusses, and door frames.
- Help erect, level, and install building frameworks using rigging hardware and cranes.
- Collaborate with and provide direction to laborers and other construction helpers.
- Work with managers, team members, and clients to meet project deadlines and expectations.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail throughout each project.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of construction experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, manuals, project plans, and specifications.
- Ability to perform basic math functions, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Valid driver's license.
- Strong multitasking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work safely and effectively as part of a construction team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous carpentry experience is preferred.
- Experience working with blueprints, building frameworks, rigging equipment, or cranes is a plus.
- Experience leading or directing laborers or construction helpers is helpful.
