Machine Operator | 1st Shift | $22.46/hour
Location: Sheffield, IA
Job Type: Full-Time
Shift: 6:00 am - 4:30 pm, Monday through Thursday

Express Employment Professionals is hiring a Machine Operator for a manufacturing facility in Sheffield, IA. This position is ideal for someone with manufacturing experience who enjoys hands-on work, reading blueprints, and operating heavy equipment in a team-oriented environment focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:

Operate manufacturing equipment to assemble products according to blueprints and work instructions

Load and move steel materials using forklifts and overhead cranes/hoists (materials up to 20 feet and 10,000 lbs)

Read blueprints and verify finished products meet quality and tolerance standards

Record production and quality data including scrap sheets and quality documentation
-
Follow standard operating procedures to ensure safe, consistent, and high-quality production

Perform 6S/housekeeping duties within assigned work areas

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
What We’re Looking For:

Some manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred

Strong attention to detail and quality

Mechanical aptitude and awareness of manufacturing safety standards

Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools (tape measure)

Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred (training available)

Strong communication skills and positive attitude

Team-oriented, dependable, and self-motivated
Equipment Used:

Manufacturing machinery such as lasers and brake presses

Forklifts and overhead cranes/hoists

Hand tools and measuring equipment (tape measures, gauges)
Physical & Work Environment:

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, kneel, squat, and perform physical job duties

Work performed in a manufacturing environment with moderate to loud noise

Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
